Game Presentations♥

So, our game presentations on Wednsday went pretty well. They told our team, (as well as the other teams), that we did a fantastic job. They told me, along with my team, that our game is great, and they loved watching us present it. They said, it's not completely done yet; which we already know that. They told us all we have to do is polish it up like, the spelling and codes. We messed up on a page but, other than that, it was fine. They gave us suggestions like, not to write in light colors. If you do, then you can't read it and it's no point.

Our Progress This Year (;

So, our game is coming along good. All we need to do is add a couple things. But, other than that, it's going pretty well. Right now, we are finding a background for level 4 in our game. I like working on my game but, I'm glad to say were almost finished. I guess you can say this class went by fast because, to me it did. Oh, for next years' class, I would tell you to do this, If you want to stress, and work hard. I'm not saying it's a bad idea to join Globaloria, I'm just warning you how it's not so easy all the time. I came in here thinking that it's going to be easy. Well, I'm going to tell you right now, it's really not. Even though it's fun, that doesn't mean that the work isn't hard. So, if you are thinking about attending Globaloria, think a bit before you decide.

The Final Days of Addition Man, (:

Well, it's getting close until we have to complete our game. Next month is when we have our game presentation. I'm nervous but, I have my team to help/support me. Dustin is the artist in the game. He can draw very good. Alexis is pretty much the leader and, she knows a lot about flash. I'm the sound manager. I look for good sounds for our game. It's a little difficult trying to find the right sound. It's very fun as well. I am going to miss globaloria but, I'm excited to finally complete my game. This has been a very fun and, interesting experience. There has been times where I have wanted to just give up but, I held on. I love my team and, how well our game is coming out. Not just my team, The other teams as well. I can't wait until game presentation. Good Luck Everyone(:

Eastern Greenbrier Middle

Eastern Greenbrier Middle has some impressive game ideas. Their games look alot of fun, and very educational. I looked at the game called, Farming Math. It was okay. It gave me some ideas for my game but, I might just stick with my game plan for rigt now. I have a suggestion for that team. They could be more creative. It was good and all but, creativity is what mainly attracts the viewers. But, my whole opinion about the Eastern Greenbrier Middle globaloria is really neat, and great ideas. So, they did a great job.

Our Game Presentation

I say the hardest part of the game presentation for me was trying to get our demo done. That was difficult for me, because I had so many problems with the action script. As soon as I fixed one problem another one came along. When you do one little thing wrong with the action script, it will completley stop working. We figured it out though. The easiest part of it was creating the scenes. It was easiest, because it brought our character to life. We really enjoyed it. Watching the 7th graders' presentation helped us get an idea on what to expect with our own. So much effort was put into our demo and presentation, we hope they like it. Addition Man is a game for kids in kindergarten to 2nd grade. We hope that when we have our game finished they will like it. I'm nervous about our presentation, because I'm worried they won't like it. I don't really know why I'm worried about it I just am. Well I guess I shouldn't let my nerves get the best of me.

Assembling Our Game

So much time has past. The fun part of assembling our game was just trying to recreate everything and get it to work. That just might have been the best part. The hardest part was remembering all the codes and trying to fix things when scenes overlapped. Who knew so much work went in to creating a simple game, yet alone a complicated one. I'm looking forward to actually having our game done. Even though it is ment for kids around 5 years old it actually looks fun now. Globaloria is a very fun, interesting, and learning class, I hope the school keeps the grant that allows us to have it.

Game Presentation

I think my presentation went great. My team did a very great job. The listeners said we did amazing and they love the idea of our game. They gave us tips and told us what they honsetly thought about it. I wasn't nervous speaking in front of the class. I was nervous of what they thought about my teams game. I didn't want them to say they didn't like it. But, i wanted to hear their opinions considering they know a lot more about this game thing. Other than that, I wasn't nervous at all. I was actually really excited to do it. Mr.Lester said I did great and I was happy he thought so. I'm proud of myself, and my team members and all the other teams. They did very well. Most people was nervous at first but, when they saw that it was no big deal, they lightened up. They did their best and suceeded.

Jordan Wayne

Jordan Wayne McClanahan. He was the best at everything he did. Ecspecially basketball and football. I am still hurt and sad about his passing. I know that he wanted everyone to be happy that his soul is set free. But, it's hard. It really is. Jordan was the spirit of the school. He was the class clown. He was very funny, smart, handsome, nice, outgoing, sweet, and amazing to have around. He'd always have a smile on his face. That's what everyone loved about him. Gosh, I can keep typing and typing all day. Ecspecially if it's about Jordan! I loved him so much. He was my best friend. I'm holding up better than I thought I would've. No matter how much I want to cry, and just crawl into a hole, I have to be strong. I feel like Jordan is still here. I know he is. That's what gets me through the day. My heart goes out to his family. If I could see Jordan one more time, I would say, "Jordan, you meant allot to me and everyone else. I hope you know that you were loved. I miss you bub and I wish I could get you back. Because, trust me, I would. And, I'll be strong for you. There's always a place in my heart for you. ALWAYS! I love you so much and you were the greatest 'Jer-dan' :) I'll miss you forever. r.i.p bubby." I know that Jordan is in a better place now, but, I just didnt get why he passed on for. Now, I know, that I shouldn't question God's plan. And, there's a reason for everything. I just don't know what the reason is. Well, this blog is getting kind of long. Maybe I should stop here. I love you Jordan Wayne! R.I.P bubbby!

* Thanksgiving[:

Thanksgiving. I love holidays. Ecspecially the ones you get to spend time with your family! Family is actually the closest people to you. And, I love my family.(: I know that sounds cheesy but, whatever. Well, Thanksgiving is the perfect time for you and your family to socialize while eating a delicious dinner. I ecspecially love my grandmother's banana pudding! Yummmm(: But, the turkey is the best. My family is the most important thing in my life. That's why I love thanksgiving. To spent time the people I love the most!

Hmmmm; Flash...[:

Flash is really cool. I love picking diferent tools and colors!!!(: When my teachers, Mr.Lester and Mrs.I.Barker, showed me flash, I was kind of nervous. But, now that I got to work with it and check it out, I really like it! It's not complicated at all! (: I really can't think of any dislikes that I have about Flash. Honestly, I like allot better than the regular Paint accessory. One of things I like aobut Flash is, if you wanted to draw a perfect square, you would click on the rectangle tool. After that, you click in a certain spot, and drag it until the shape is as big as you want it. And, here comes the cool part! It will automaticlly turn that square into a perfect one!(: It really is better than your regular Paint accessory! Tutorials we watched, and read about were very helpful for me too.

Let's Finally Get into the Good Stuff! xD

I am very excited for the fact that we are in our teams now. I am really easy to work with, so I have no problems with my teammates. My teammates are Rebecka, the coder, Dustin, the artist, and Alexis, the manager. Our team is called, The Lean Mean Gaming Machine. We chose that name because it's funny and we wanted people to laugh at it. Anyway, So far, our idea is to have a super hero named "Multiplication Man" who flies around answering multiplication problems. We have allot to go. But, we started somewhere. I can't wait to be finished with our own game that we designed! Now, were getting into the fun stuff. It's going to take work. But, you can have fun while designing the game. We just needed a push and Mr.Lester and Mrs.I.Barker gave it to us.

My year in Globaloria so Far....

Globaloria is really great. Honestly, it isn't hard at all so far. It is real easy. But, the hard part for most people is that you have to listen well. Especially at the beginning because if you get behind now, you will struggle for the rest of the school year. I think I am doing well so far because I listen, I do excactly what they tell me, I never go faster than my teachers are going, I stay right with them, and I am eager to learn a whole lot more while I'm in this class. This year so far has been great! Nothing can get better than Globaloria. Knock on wood! Because something can go bad. I still have a fear of stage fright. And, I need to overcome that real soon. I really like the Playing To Learn games. They're interesting and thoughtful. I really liked this one game called The Cost of Life. I love the idea of the game! It is just so addictig. I get most of my videos for my Wiki page from Viddler. That's a good site. I Globaloria, we have a blast! I wish that everyoe could have this opportuity to be i Globaloria.

Our Safety While On the Internet

The internet is as safe as you make it. Yes, the internet can be dangerous. But, only if you give out personal information. Okay, here's an example, lets say that I gave this guy that is a total stranger to me, information about where I go to school to, where I live, what bus I ride, or even the littlest thing, what my last name is. I understand why Mr.Cambell banded yahoo messenger, myspace, meebo, ebuddy, and other things like that. You may not realize it now, but, he really does care about us. And, if he didn't, he wouldn't have blocked all of those chatting websites. I know your thinking: Why in the world would Mr.Cambell block all of the fun sites? Does he want us to die of boredom? Well, I thought that too. It's not about him wanting you to be bored out of your mind while your at school. It's you being as safe as he can get you. And, Mr.Cambell can't do it alone. If you want to be safe, do not give out any information. It doesn't matter who it is! You can use the internet as much as you want to but, only if you use it the safe way. I am not saying the internet is horrible and it should have never been invented or anything because I use it allot too. I am just saying, use the internet safetly. If you follow the easy rules of Safety On the Internet, the internet will be as safe or as dangerous as you make it to be.

Mathmatics

I am not good in Math but, at least I try. Math isn't my favorite subject. For that reason, I don't like it. Math is probably my worst subject. I try to learn Math. Not just for me, my family too. I like going to Study Island. It helps me understand Math a little bit more. My mom expects me to try my best. If I had to choose a favorite lesson in Math, I would choose scientific notation. I understand it. Most of the time I don't get Math. But, the reason I like scientific notation is because that is a lesson that I actually like and understand. My least favorite thing in Math is square roots. I never got understood them. So, you can tell that I try to find something that I am good at. At least I didn't give up. I keep trying. That's why I am very glad that I have been chosen to do Globaloria.

What I would like to learn Globaloria.

So far, I love Globaloria. I would like to learn many, many things. I have always struggled in math. I don't think it was the teachers. The problem was me. I want this class so I can be good at something for once. I have an advantage. Every one doesn't have this opportunity. I am very lucky that I have this chance to learn more about video gaming. One of the things I like about Globaloria is that you have to use the computer allot. So, as I am learning more about video gaming design, I am also learning more about the computer. When I design a video game, I want it to be fun, but, educational. So, when your having fun, your learning something at the same time. I am nervous to stand in front of allot of people. But, I would like to overcome my fear. I am very excited to see how much I have learned in this class.
